Yesterday we brought news of No. 7 Sub Shop’s new breakfast sandwiches. Now, two other restaurants have announced new breakfast hours: Carroll Gardens’ Buttermilk Channel will serve Saturday brunch, and Soho’s Salume will open for breakfast at 7:30.
At the former, you can wake up with an oyster-garnished bloody mary, lamb and romaine salad, fried pork chop and waffles, pecan pie french toast, and dandelion green salad. At the latter, breakfast revolves around the cornetto, a kind of Italian croissant.
As for why more restaurants are jumping on the breakfast and brunch wagon, we’d guess it has something to do with higher profit margins on most morning dishes.
