The folks at the Hester Street Fair will be celebrating the Fourth in appropriately boisterous form, thanks to an assist from Santos Party House.
On Saturday, Santos will provide music for a Hester Street Fair cookout that will feature vittles from such usual suspects as An Choi, Malbon Bros., Luke’s Lobster, and Sigmund Pretzels.
In addition, NYC Food Guy reports that there will be new Fourth-inspired treats from La Newyorkina and Guerrilla Ice Cream. The former will sell watermelon paletas, and the latter will bust out the Redcoat, a spicy cranberry shaved ice speckled with pop rocks, and Chinatown Tea Party, Steel Buddha Tea sorbet served with Chinese walnut cookies and fresh dragonfruit.
The party will take place during regular market hours, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. There’s no street fair on the Fourth itself; presumably, its organizers and purveyors will be celebrating their independence from the demands of the hungry public.
