HAPPY HOUR

by

We’ll never forget the time we saw Jonathan Ames have knives thrown at him at a reading in BookCourt—and, people, he risked his life for free. As far as we know, the only pyrotechnics at this $20 intimate evening with Chuck Klosterman will be the verbal kind—though we’d certainly pay even more to see him walk into a reading with fireballs shooting up on either side (hey, whatever it takes to get people to pay for a book these days, right?). Anyway, only 50 tickets are being sold to this event with everyone getting a copy of Klosterman’s latest essay collection, Eating the Dinosaur, and a chance to ask him their most burning pop-culture questions after a discussion of the book with fellow rock writer Rob Sheffield (author of Talking to Girls About Duran Duran). The party is being hosted at Lulu’s by the very awesome indie bookshop WORD in Greenpoint. Purchase tickets in advance at wordbrooklyn.com.
