A special performance to benefit Celebrate Brooklyn, baroque-pop singer-songwriter Rufus Wainwright will perform the songs of Judy Garland with piano accompaniment. Garland’s daughter, Lorna Luft, has rightfully praised Wainwright’s renditions of her mother’s work, done most famously at Carnegie Hall in 2006. Tonight, he’ll face a more personal familial verdict— his opener is his father, Loudon Wainwright III, who won the Grammy for Best Traditional Folk Album this year.
