New Orleans-Style Stan’s Place Becomes Rothschild’s

Boerum Hill New Orleans-style restaurant Stan’s Place has been closed for renovations for several months. Next Wednesday, it will reopen under the same ownership but in a slightly different incarnation. The new restaurant is called Rothschild’s, not because it has any connection to the famous European banking family, but because owner Stan Williams found the vintage neon sign shown above in a Kansas City warehouse and wanted to use it.

Rothschild’s, like Stan’s Place, will serve an approximation of New Orleans-style food, such as seafood gumbo and oyster and catfish po’boys, and, at brunch, eggs Sardou. Other dishes skew New American: steak, mussels, and, of course, a burger.

Rothschild’s will be open daily for dinner and on Saturdays and Sundays for brunch.
