At Runnin’ Scared, we’re proud fans of Anna Chapman’s Facebook page. Though she’s a pretty bad spy, having been caught by the FBI and shipped back home to Russia, she happens to be pretty good at social networking, always picking flattering photographs and sharing wisdom with her “friends” through status updates. A day after returning home, she used a little Dickens: “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.” Since, she quoted American first lady Eleanor Roosevelt: “You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face.” How about some more Facebook-ready famous quotes?
When she finds out who snitched on her and her Russian cohort:
“I know it was you, Fredo. I know it was you, Fredo. You broke my heart. You broke my heart!” –Michael Corleone, The Godfather II
When she gives her first speech to The New Class of sexy Russian spies:
“And dying in your beds, many years from now, would you be willin’ to trade all the days, from this day to that, for one chance, just one chance, to come back here and tell our enemies that they may take our lives, but they’ll never take… OUR FREEDOM!” –William Wallace, Braveheart (Right, Mel?)
Speaking of Mel Gibson… This one works for Chapman speaking to her whole country:
“Say thank you!!! Say thank you now!!!!” –Mel Gibson
On a hopeful day:
“You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can not fool all of the people all of the time.” –Abraham Lincoln
On a really bad day:
“If you can’t stop hating, you know what? I’ll pop a glock in your mouth and make a brain slushy.” –Jessi “Slaughter” to the Internet
