Back in March, we spoke to Kenny Tufo about Strong Place, the restaurant he was planning to open with Jeff Lederman at 270 Court Street in Cobble Hill. At the time, Tufo, who is the chef at the neighborhood fixture Bocca Lupo (which Lederman owns), predicted a May 1 opening, but added that it “could even be mid-April if the world turns the right way.”
Apparently the world didn’t turn the right way, but nevertheless, Strong Place is at long last reportedly opening its doors. According to Cobble Hill Blog, it’s slated to greet its first customers at 4 this evening.
If what Tufo told us in March still holds true, those customers can expect a “modern American bistro” menu, with “medium-sized plates” all priced under $20, as well as 24 beers on tap. The 50-seat restaurant will have a backyard that seats an additional 30 — which will no doubt evoke the arboreal splendors of the restaurant’s namesake, which Tufo deemed “one of the prettiest streets in Brooklyn.”
