Sometimes you see a shifty car out there on the streets—say, a rust-flaked, decades-old Pontiac Parisienne—and the single, clear thought is to check its front grill for bloodstains, because it might be an Unsane album cover in motion. The pioneering New York noise band plies pummel as a trade; they punch in and then they punch you, and gory album covers only carry through on that bruised promise. The trio took a hiatus and returned to performing earlier this year, but here they’ll perform 1995’s Scattered, Smothered & Covered in its entirety as well as a set of fist-in-face favorites from the blood-soaked Unsane recordings vault. That shit better be under lock and key when not in use—the world is dangerous enough already. With Cleveland crazies Keelhaul, Pigs, and Disappearer.
