A cofounder of the STORM rave parties and Sonic Groove Record Store in the early ’90s, Frankie Bones helped create New York techno. He’s even credited with popularizing the “Peace, love, unity and respect” motto. Chicago’s Angel Alanis has equally stellar old-school credentials—he released a range of house and techno styles on Tresor and Tronic, and now he’s joined DJ Pierre’s Afro Acid tribe. A long list of supporting acts—Merlyn Martin, Torin, Mike Sims & Sean Place, Rick Morykon, and Rebecca Ciaglia—should make this feel even more like a mini-rave.
