These two sets of indie rock brothers have done well together, racing almost to the top of the charts (which admittedly ain’t as impressive as it used to be) with High Violet, their fifth and latest album. On their last tour, they mopped the floor with Modest Mouse as R.E.M.’s other opening act. As mopey and sensitive as they are, they ain’t emo or slowcore; you might even say that Matt Berninger’s low-down moan is a later-day match for Bryan Ferry without the lounge-lizard pretensions.
