Today in tipsterdom, a well-known food editor emails: “Just saw who I’m pretty sure was Harold Dieterle walk into a butcher-papered-up restaurant at 469 Sixth Avenue, with what I’m pretty sure was a knife bag over his shoulder.”
Could the Perilla co-owner and former Top Chef star be opening something in the former Philippe Chow Express space, which Eater reported closed on June 8 of this year? We know that Dieterle had plans to open a second restaurant, and gave him a call. The skinny: no comment. “I’m not really ready to talk about anything on the new project yet.” Keep an eye on the space, folks, and send tips if you hear anything!
