Police Seek Suspect in Sexual Assault of Eight-Year-Old Girl

The NYPD is asking for the public’s help identifying a suspect wanted in a sexual assault that took place in Chinatown on Thursday, July 29. The man (pictured) followed an eight-year-old girl into the lobby of a building near Forsyth Street around 1:30 p.m., grabbed her from behind, and fondled her above her clothing before fleeing. The suspect is described as Hispanic or white, 20 to 30 years old, 5’7″ tall, and heavy-set with short, dark hair. He was wearing a dark, short-sleeved T-shirt, blue jeans, white sneakers, and a dark Yankees cap, and carrying a blue backpack.
