Once again, we marvel at the great job the city has done in expanding the park system. If you haven’t enjoyed the High Line, the park built on the abandoned West Side elevated tracks, you now have a chance to tone up and enjoy the view with free conditioning classes on Tuesday mornings. The 9 a.m. class practices the Feldenkrais Method, designed to “shape your body, empower your mind, and enlighten your spirit,” while the 10 a.m. Pilates Fusion class is more for stretching and building strength and flexibility. The class is located at the Chelsea Market Passage between 15th and 16th streets. No RSVP required, and all ages welcome—just dress comfortably and enjoy fitness 30 feet above street level.
