Zabriskie Point

Dir. Michelangelo Antonioni (1970).
A true film maudit, Antonioni’s tortuously-made and much abused American epic—a sort of minimalist Bonnie and Clyde knock-off has scenes of startling beauty and appalling idiocy. The ending, however, justifies much that precedes it.
