We like a scoop from L’Arte del Gelato or Ample Hills Creamery as much as anyone, but as the Times recently pointed out, small-batch ice cream is awfully expensive. And sometimes you don’t want to have to think too much about a frosty confection. Sometimes you just want to reach down into that big bodega cooler and see what you come up with. Most likely, it’ll be sugary and shockingly cold and just plain junky-good. It may even — bonus! — be on a stick.
