This upstate folk-rock quintet has enjoyed the full support of the jam band scene in their ongoing attempts to reanimate the Grateful Dead ever since Jerry Garcia’s death in 1995. The appeal of their latest album, however, comes less from the songwriting or the dueling lead vocalists and more from the shrewd production details, sparingly applied since they’re actually almost antithetical to the mission at hand.
