Memo to bank thieves: It may be time to cultivate a new profession. It seems that a number of bank tellers are not just “handing over the money” to robbers who pass them notes requesting them to do so. Earlier this week, we had this attempt, during which a bank teller refused to grant the would-be robber any cash and instead hit the panic button, causing him to flee. Today, we learn of another attempt, in which a suspect claiming to have a gun entered the Bank of America at 301 West 145th Street on August 16 and passed a note demanding money. He got nothing, and fled on foot.
Cops are looking for the guy pictured, a black male 25 to 35 years old; if you’ve seen him or have any info, call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS (8477).
If you’re thinking about going into the bank robbing biz, think again — tellers are getting tough. Even the bouquet bandit got busted, and he brought flowers.
