A man fell from an Upper West Side building earlier today and lived to say how badly it hurts to plunge seven stories onto a red Dodge Charger.
“My leg! My leg!” the man, whose name has not been released, screamed after crashing through the car’s back window, according to the Daily News.
“I’m very amazed he’s still alive,” said Anthony Amedeo, who witnessed the fall and said the impact was so hard that the man’s blue Keds flung right off his feet. He was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital with two broken legs, and cops are investigating whether the incident was a suicide attempt.
Guy McCormack, the owner of the crushed car, was doing construction work across the street. “Here’s what saved him!” he said, holding up a crystal rosary that had been inside the vehicle.
Then McCormack delivered the best New-Yorker-at-an-accident-scene quote we’ve heard in a long time: “I don’t know how I’m going to tell my wife. It’s actually her car,” McCormack said. “What are you going to do? It’s New York.”
