Fresh on the heels of Mathieu Palombino’s declaration that he’d like to open a version of Motorino where customers don’t have to wait an hour to sit down, Lucali’s Mark Iacono is also expressing some vague plans to possibly expand to Manhattan. Iacono told Feast that he’s been busy training people at Lucali and that “once they’re ready,” he “may venture into Manhattan.” In the meantime, Giuseppina, his second pizzeria, is “99 percent done” and scheduled to open in the South Slope in two weeks.
