Just this morning we found ourselves wondering what had become of Ryan Skeen, the hero of what has become over the past year the tristate restaurant world’s most reliably entertaining picaresque novel. After his brief layover in Harlem and a flirtation with Greenwich Avenue, wherever would he next appear?
According to Eater, we need wonder no more: Skeen is now working as the chef at Fish Tag, the Mediterranean seafood restaurant that Michael Psilakis is planning to open this October. The restaurant, located in the former Gus & Gabriel space, will feature a 30-seat raw bar.
Psilakis confirmed that Skeen is in his employment full-time, so there’s none of this consulting business. Whether that guarantees Skeen will actually stick around for a while is another story — there’s always the possibility that he quit in the time it took us to write this — but regardless, we’ll look forward to seeing what he has to serve this time around.
