DFA Records have been curating Wednesday nights at the incongruously uptown Hudson Hotel since the end of August, but label boss James Murphy has been away, playing big deal European festivals with LCD Soundsystem. They go on tour again (with Sleigh Bells!) starting next week, but in the meantime, Murphy’s taking his turn on the decks at the Hudson tonight — for free. It’s not quite a full-blown show, but dude playing records live has never not been a sure thing, and it happens less these days in NYC than it used to. Plus, there’s some sort of secret special guest — not a lot of bad possibilities there. Starts at 9 p.m.; here’s the flyer:
