A new wine bar looks like it’s getting ready to open at 161 Lexington Avenue. Lallisse promises to serve “simple, soulful, sustainable” Mediterranean wine and food. More importantly, it will serve natural or “living” wines.
A missive in the window describes the wines the establishment intends to offer, which are made with no pesticides, herbicides, or chemical fertilizers, and fermented using native yeasts as opposed to laboratory ones. Natural wines are becoming more commonplace in New York, but this may be the first wine bar dedicated to Mediterranean natural wines. So, yes, our interest is piqued.
