Earlier today Bowery Boogie noticed that 154 Orchard Street, the building that houses Bia Garden, appeared to be for sale: The property was advertised on NYCRS for $150,000, including the $6,500 rent.
So is Michael Huynh looking to rid himself of his subterranean watering hole, which has been beset by mixed reviews and previous rumors of closure?
According to Huynh HQ, no.
“[T]there are no plans to sell,” his rep e-mails us. “Michael often tests the real estate waters by listing spaces. It doesn’t mean he intends to sell.”
For now, at least.
Asked if Huynh was testing the “real estate waters” because he’s planning to open new restaurants, the rep would only respond, “When is he NOT thinking of opening new restaurants?”
