Almost a year after it closed, the old Chanterelle space still sits empty, its window signage and the rich yellow paint on its walls eerily intact, as if the restaurant is just in the middle of the renovation that the Waltucks had originally planned. It’s beautiful and sad, a ghostly reminder that some things cannot be replaced, even if landlords think otherwise.
