The Cuisine of Queens & Beyond Food and Wine Gala

Join chefs Rocco Sacramone of Trattoria L’incontro in Astoria, and Top Chef alum Andrea Beaman for Dish du Jour Magazine‘s 9th annual Food and Wine Gala. The event features sample bites from local chefs and restaurants around the borough and a five-ingredient cooking throwdown that one lucky $75 VIP ticket holder will get to participate in.
HARVEST: Wine Auction and Celebration of Long Island’s East End
Wölffer Estate Vineyards
This two-day event will feature 10-Mile Dinners, each hosted by a local winemaker in a select private location; Wine Salons, featuring tastings and workshops at wineries around the East End; and a grand tasting at Wölffer, where an extensive selection of Long Island wines will be on hand to sample alongside bites from local chefs. Proceeds from the event benefit the East End Hospice and the Peconic Land Trust.
Guest Chef Dinner
Sunday, September 26 at 6 p.m.
George Mendes continues his Guest Chef series with a super-sweet meal this Sunday. This time, he opens his kitchen to four of the city’s best pastry chefs for a five-course $150 tasting menu. Alex Stupak of wd-50, Johnny Iuzzini of Jean-Georges, Brooks Headley of Del Posto, and Michael Laiskonis of Le Bernardin won’t be making dessert, however. They’ll be doing savory courses while Mendes himself takes on the sweets.
