9/11 Health Care Bill Gets House Approval, Finally

by

Remember back in July when Anthony Weiner went nuts over the defeat of the 9/11 health care bill — which would have paid for the health care of people who got sick from the toxic ash they inhaled while helping people/cleaning up/living after the collapse of the Twin Towers on September 11? His reaction to the bill being voted down based on pretty bullshit “procedural concerns” is worth watching again today, because the House just passed the measure.

This time, only a simple majority was required, and the bill went through 268 to 160, though Republicans still branded it “yet another big-government entitlement program that would boost taxes and kill jobs.” Next stop, the Senate.

Here’s Weiner taking no prisoners back in July.

We’re thinking he’s probably happier today. (Bloomberg is.)
