Between the opening of Eataly, Del Posto’s four-star Times review, and mounting anticipation about Porsena, Italian food is having quite a busy autumn. On Monday, Michael White will add to the excitement when he opens Osteria Morini, his trattoria on Lafayette Street. Grub Street has a preview of the menu, which is big on the foods of Italy’s Emilia-Romagna region. That means lots of rich, heavy food: think truffled parmigiano ravioli with melted butter and prosciutto di Parma, sweetbread and duck heart ragu, and seared filet of beef, served with fried pastry cream, porcini mushrooms, and balsamic vinegar. Fall- weather food, in other words, if fall should ever get here.
