If we hear about one more bug-infested building or rat-engulfed subway station, we might consider relocating to a place where insects and rodents are . . . soft and lovable. Mochimochi Land is the only place where this is possible, and it can be said that Brooklyn knitter Anna Hrachovec will be the mayor of this Fraggle Rock–like town because, well, she created them. Mochimochi is Hrachovec’s first solo show for which she used about 200 balls of yarn to craft a plush city where rats crawl up skyscrapers and cute bugs conduct working model trains. The only thing left for humans to do in Mochimochi land is to play with them.
