Before Lady GaGa wore steak tartare, she was a de facto groupie for New York glam rockers Semi Precious Weapons, who espouse a similar belief in rocking out with your disco stick. Known for champagne facials and deep-throating the mike, the four-piece takes their cues from Scissor Sisters’ aggressive electr-pop and a MA thesis in gender performance. Their self-titled anthem is the jam; there’s something about singer Justin Tranter’s suggestive cooing of the line, “I can’t pay my rent but I’m fucking gorgeous!” You’ll want to stay for the usual display of breasts on request.
