If you’ve never seen Swan Lake, which tells the story of a princess turned into a swan by an evil sorcerer’s curse, Matthew Bourne’s Swan Lake, which made its Broadway debut more than a decade ago, is a fantastic introduction—though being that this is produced by the provocative choreographer, there are a few twists: The lead is not a princess but a prince, and the traditional female ensemble of swans is all well-chiseled males. Perhaps, after Black Swan, Hollywood could do this version? Who else is picturing Jude Law in tights?
