Boqueria’s new chef, Marc Vidal, got on the restaurant’s blog yesterday to introduce himself and give a little background on his upbringing in Spain. His grandfather owned a restaurant, he says, in which his grandmother cooked and his mother ran the front room. He posts some charming old-timey photos of his family and favorite haunts in Barcelona, promising to bring the taste of that city to New York:
I’m very happy to be coming to Boqueria. … The restaurant and the name of Boqueria really inspire me and I want to serve food that transports our guests to Barcelona, in the same way walking into the restaurant transported me home.
