Between pickles, New Amsterdam, and the Grub/Hester Street festival, there are already plenty of ways to stuff your face this weekend. And now, in honor of Oktoberfest, here are two more.
On Sunday, the Frankies crew will throw their annual Oktoberfest bash at Frankies 457 Spuntino. From 12 p.m. until 6 p.m., yet more Sixpoint will be on tap, as will a menu including leberkase, bratwurst, German potato salad, sauerkraut, and hot spiced cider. After 6 p.m., expect a “special musical treat.” And paralyzing degrees of inebriation.
And on Saturday, Co. will join forces with Sixpoint to host a lunchtime food and beer pairing. From 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., the restaurant will offer the following five-course menu:
Bibb Lettuce Salad with squash with Pumpkin Brewster fall seasonal beer (more ginger, honey & lemon notes than typical pumpkin beers)
Charcuterie Pie (knockwurst, sauerkraut) with Sehr Crisp Pilsner (Sixpoint’s new German-style pilsner)
Mushroom & Jalapeno Pie with “Sweet Re-Action” Belgian Golden Ale
Ham & Cheese with Righteous Rye (a spicy ale)
Margherita with Brownstone (Brown ale with malty toffee notes)
