Maybe you’ve found barbershops or even salons a bit stuffy, or you haven’t bonded well with your barbers. Maybe it’s time that they met you on your turf to service your hair instead of you dragging your mangy mane over to them. Michael Dueñas ran with that idea, creating Hair Room Service. Mind you: Dueñas and crew ain’t barbers per se, but stylists, or “artists,” as they call themselves on their site. Some of the mops they’ve chopped (averaging about 200 per month, they say) include those of the casts of Glee and Jersey Shore, Yoko Ono, and Mariah Carey. But they claim to also cater to “college students with no time.” Their one-hour sessions (which have included late-night calls and wig trimmings) come priced at $85 and up for a blow-dry to $125 and up for a haircut. And don’t sweat the mess: They bring a floor mat to catch your clippings.
