People’s Pops closed up its Chelsea shop for the season on October 15, but its space won’t go unoccupied for long: Beginning November 7, it will be filled with meat pies.
Per Diner’s Journal, the counter will be selling the Australian potpies that have made the Tuck Shop’s original East 1st Street location such a draw for expats, budget eaters, and the nocturnal and inebriated. The Chelsea Market menu will be identical to that at both East 1st Street and the Shop’s second outpost on St. Marks Place — look for pies, rolls, and the pea soup floater, which features a pie set adrift in a bowl of soup, “Adelaide style.”
