The NYPD is asking for the public’s help locating Raven Moses, 28, (pictured), who’s wanted with regard to an identity theft and bank fraud scheme that has involved hundreds of victims, thousands of counterfeit checks, and a number of commercial banks in Manhattan.
Along with her cohorts, Moses obtained the personal and bank account information of some 500 victims, then used it to manufacture counterfeit checks, which she cashed and deposited, stealing more than $1.4 million from the accounts of just one bank, and additional funds from others.
Victims of the scam included private individuals, corporations, religious institutions, hospitals, and schools, as well as city and state government agencies.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS (8477). All calls are strictly confidential.
