Galen Zamarra has earned a solid and enthusiastic following for the seasonal Provençal cuisine he cooks at Mas Farmhouse. And now he’s hoping to replicate the success of his Downing Street restaurant by opening a second. Per Diner’s Journal, Zamarra will open Mas (La Grillade) on the corner of Leroy Street and Seventh Avenue South. Located in a former nightclub, Mas the Second will offer a similarly seasonal, ingredient-driven menu featuring — as its name suggests — grilled dishes; it’s scheduled to open early next summer.
