Mary Anne Hobbs may have done more than anyone to popularize dubstep and its increasingly divergent offshoots. She’s long championed Britain’s experimental bass musics on her BBC show, and in a Planet Mu CD series. Among the acts she got behind is Nosaj Thing: part of a Los Angeles wave including Flying Lotus and Daedelus, Nosaj Thing displays an equal love of West Coast hip-hop and of UK IDM.
