Artichoke Basille’s Pizza’s newest outpost, at 111 MacDougal Street, opened the day before Thanksgiving and is already doing brisk business selling slices until the wee hours of the morning (like the other locations, it’s open until 5 a.m.). And better yet, more locations are planned for the future!
Artichoke co-owner Francis Garcia tells the Washington Square News that he hopes to open two additional locations in Manhattan before setting his sights on Boston or Las Vegas.
Now, more pizza in a city that loves its pizza is never a bad thing, but where’s the Brooklyn love? After all, the Meatball Shop’s already got its sights set on the borough, and Artichoke has now basically covered most of downtown New York with its East Village, Greenwich Village, and Meatpacking locations. Really, Garcia, Boston before Brooklyn? Don’t they only eat chowder up there?
