As the almost perpetual line trailing to its door attests, Dos Toros has enjoyed booming business since first opening its doors in October 2009.
It’s been so successful, in fact, that it proprietors, Oliver and Leo Kremer, are expanding. According to this month’s Community Board 2 SLA agenda, the brothers are applying for a beer and/or wine license for 11 Carmine Street, the former site of a gift shop. The short block is already home to Grom, the Greenwich Village Bistro, Joe’s Pizza, Bagels on the Square, and Popbar.
Now that Dos Toros appears to be moving in, it will be perhaps the most takeout-saturated block in all of Manhattan. The pigeons in Father Demo Square across the street will no doubt be ecstatic.
