Last night, Community Board 3 granted Mathieu Palombino’s wish for a liquor license for his upcoming Bowery steakhouse. Per DNA Info, the board gave its blessing to the 2,500-square-foot space, which will seat 72 and stay open until 1 a.m. on the weekdays and 2 a.m. on the weekends.
The board also approved a beer and wine license for the Belgian, the beer garden that’s coming to the corner of Second Avenue and East 3rd Street, as well as a transfer for the restaurant taking over the Bunny Chow space on Orchard Street; the place will apparently serve burgers, fries, and the like for lunch and dinner.
The board’s giving mood did not extend to the owners of Northern Spy Food Co., who were denied a license upgrade application on the grounds that the block could not handle more cocktail crowds.
