Last year, the understated fellow spent several months in this room on pre- and post-show duty. Now he has graduated to prime time, and when he sings, he’s reminiscent of Chet Baker. He calls this outing “Remembering Nat King Cole,” so it seems he’s going for a different kind of kid-glove sound. Hopefully he’ll include “Answer Me, My Love” with the more familiar Cole-ation. Get these for the other two-thirds of the trio: Bucky Pizzarelli on guitar and Jay Leonhardt on bass.
