Holiday cheer abounds this time of year, and (thankfully) the Scrooges of New York have taken a rest from their usually irritated dispositions. Though, if you begin to miss the miserly attitude, the real Scrooge can still be found in all his glory at Housing Works’ What the Dickens? ‘A Christmas Carol’ Marathon. Dozens of writers and musicians will read the Charles Dickens tale throughout the day, including Jonathan Ames, Mary Gaitskill, and Colum McCann. Don’t forget to enjoy coffee and browse the books—all proceeds help to end homelessness and AIDS. We’re sure Scrooge, after his change of heart of course, would approve.
