His label boss, Claude VonStroke, is nearby at District 36, but Dirtybird artist Julio Bashmore offers plenty on his own tonight. The Bristol native steps a bit outside Dirtybird’s usual style–Detroit tech-house with the bass amped up–to help disseminate the house style that his countrymen have dubbed “funky.” Montreal’s Jacques Greene borrows r&b and garage to make the kind of house that’s found him a home on London’s bassline-loving Night Slugs. With Magick Mountian (the Pop Manifesto) and residents Rem Koolhaus, Contakt, Mayster, Space Jam, and C-Sick.
