Alert: You can now expect 36.5 fewer days in life, according to a report by the National Center for Health Statistics. This is the first time that U.S. life expectancy has fallen in 15 years, so…congrats! We’re all dying a little more efficiently these days.
As you make your holiday toasts, you can thank Alzheimer’s, high blood pressure, kidney disease, flu, and pneumonia for killing off the elderly folks, although it could also just be that they’re old. Also dying faster were white people. Babies did okay though, mostly surviving. Which is good. Babies dying is sad.
