Although the Hester Street Fair closed up shop for the season in October, it’s returning for a limited-time seasonal engagement, courtesy of its Big Social Holiday Market. Beginning 11 a.m. on Friday, December 17, and lasting through December 23, some 40 local vendors will gather at the Openhouse Gallery at 201 Mulberry Street to sell their wares — which, most importantly for our purposes, will include food.
Chief on the menu is Pies ‘n’ Thighs, descending from Williamsburg to bestow its fried-chicken-and-maple-biscuit sandwiches. Luke’s Lobster will also be there, as will Robicelli’s Cupcakes (with seasonal flavors like hot buttered rum), the Macaron Parlour, the Real Vegan, and Skimkim, which will be baking kimchi shepherd’s pies.
Liquid sustenance will come from Santos Party House and Beast, which will be serving mulled wine, hot toddys, and likker-spiked cocoa. And yes, there will be eggnog. More information can be found on the Hester Street Fair Facebook page, along with some alluring Robicelli’s cupcake photos.
