You’ve seen the art. You’ve met the chef. At last, Jesús Núñez’s Graffit is set to open tomorrow. The restaurant promises to bring to New York the kind of the avant-garde cuisine Spain has been known for over the last few years, with a nod to the chef-owner’s youth as a graffiti and fine artist.
Diner’s Journal has a look at the concept and Núñez’s own vision. Expect off-the-wall dishes like Tortilla Espanola served in a martini glass, featuring eight different textures from fried potatoes to creamy onions topped with an egg soufflé; and an edible sangria with layers of white wine, fresh fruits, gelatin, and wine gelées.
