The cupcake cartel that is Magnolia isn’t just opening five new locations around the country. It’s priming itself for world domination with a new 5,200-square-foot production facility in Harlem, according to The Wall Street Journal. The new factory will serve as a distribution center for the company’s impending online and mail-order catalog business.
Alongside cupcakes of all creeds, Magnolia will also sell branded merchandise and other baked goods on the website, set to launch next spring. In addition to new stores in Chicago, Boston, Long Island, New Jersey, and Bloomingdale’s uptown, the growing empire hopes to install more locations in Washington and Philadelphia, as well as in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. And they say nothing is made in America anymore.
