The Lauryn Hill comeback is in furious motion, folks — make that four local-ish venues she’ll be playing in the next couple months. Along with her sold-out Bowery Balloom and Music Hall of Williamsburg shows (and her trio of dates at the Blue Note in early January), she’s tacked on an additional show, in mid-February, at a spot further afield but way, way bigger, at least.
Yes, tix are on sale today (at the odd start time of 5 p.m.) for Lauryn Hill at the Wellmont Theatre on February 4. If you’re unfamiliar, the Wellmont is a rad old movie theater out in Montclair, NJ, now under the Bowery Presents umbrella — Passion PIt and Titus Andronicus have the gig New Year’s Eve, just FYI. It’s well worth the extra layer or two of public transportation it will require for you Brooklynites to reach it. What you’ll see/hear when you get there is, of course, debatable. Lauryn will give you a story to tell, at any rate, you’d have to think.
