Ralph Erenzo, the founder and master distiller of Tuthilltown Spirits, was in a near-fatal accident on December 21, and is still in critical condition at St. Francis Hospital in Poughkeepsie. The latest reports from his friends and family at the hospital are hopeful thanks to signs of improvement. Little is known about the accident as he was alone in the car. Tuthilltown is best known for being the first distillery to open in New York state since Prohibition. Its best-known products include the Hudson Whiskey line of brown liquors, with its Baby Bourbon and Manhattan Rye. Our thoughts are with Erenzo and his family.
