APAP’s Export NOLA shows offer the opportunity to experience a night out in New Orleans without buying a plane ticket. Henry Butler’s at the Bitter End tonight, but this Sullivan Hall lineup is notable for featuring the rarely seen (in these parts) Joe Krown Trio, which finds the fine Jack McDuff-influenced jazz-funk organist augmented with Crescent City blues-guitar icon Walter “Wolfman” Washington and drumming giant Russell Batiste, Jr. Look for more butt-shaking jazz-funk from saxophonist Khris Royal’s combo. Young pop-Creole fiddle prodigy Amanda Shaw, blues singer Mia Borders, and the funk-rocking Honey Islands Swamp Band round out the bill.
